DiYDCo Story
I was 17, living in Minnesota, broke and desperate for another path when I started this business. I was working two jobs, going to college, and trying to keep my barrel horse and my cutting horse sound and healthy. Late one night, I was headed to work horses and my card declined for $11.27. The sandwich I was trying to buy was going to be the first thing I ate all day. I broke down in the middle of the Dollar Store and prayed to God for help. He put it on my heart to start creating wild rags and blessed me with the best customers a girl could ever dream of. When this first started, I didn't think people would keep buying wild rags once it was warm, so I thought I'd have to scramble for another way to keep feeding myself and my horses. That first summer, I sold more wild rags than I did all winter and I moved to the town I found God in - Stillwater, Oklahoma.
God has blessed me beyond belief with incredible customers, opportunities, and supporters - I could not be more thankful for each and every one of y'all. I am so humbled and grateful that DiYDCo has grown into a storefront on Main Street in the town I always felt called to be in - God is so, so, so good.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you, I'm so happy you're here! I hope to meet each and every one of y'all at our storefront or in our mobile store trailer - We would love for you to come hang out with the Daisy Gang & shop in person!
XOXO, Rachel Slathar
